F Sittard FC, also known as Fortuna Sittard, is a Dutch professional football (soccer) club based in the city of Sittard. The club was founded in 1968 and plays its home matches at the Fortuna Sittard Stadion, with a capacity of 12,500 spectators.
Fortuna Sittard has a rich history and has enjoyed some success over the years. The club's most successful period came in the late 1990s when they won the KNVB Cup in 1999 and competed in the UEFA Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in the 1984-85 season.
In recent years, Fortuna Sittard has made a comeback after facing financial difficulties and being relegated to the amateur leagues in 2009. In the 2018-19 season, the club finished in eighth place in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football.
